Morning. The girls arranged to meet 9am at the stairs. Guess what. I went down at 9am and no one was there.
Was quite cool. I woke up, saw this german girl at my floor toilet and introduced herself as farridus. She and her spanish friend ask me to join them for breakfast. But since I was meeting the girls, I politely declined.
I sat at the steps for 30 mins! Even went up to take my bible to read, sat at the steps and I kept pressing level 3's bell and non of the 2 girls answered!!!. Fed up. I went back up, saw the german who was getting ready to go out.
I said "finished breakfast that fast?!"
They said "Wanna join us for breakfast?"
Me: Sure. But when?
Far: 10 mins, we're going out to buy some food then come back
Me: 10 mins? Isnt the supermarked like 1 km away?
Far: No, there's on right below.
Me: Really?
Far: Yes, I can show you.
Me: Ok give me a sec.
And that's when I discovered Rema 1000, the convenient store 50 metres away. And it has stuff that's much cheaper than the supermarked, 1km away at the football stadium.
Had breakfast with them, and 1 other german couple. Means 3 german and 1 spanish (she lives in Barcelona! cool). Apparently, they used to be flatmates in germany. The spanish lived and studied in germany for 3 years, thus she could speak german. And for my sake, they spoke english. But sometimes, they revert back to german which im ok with.
I had such a filling and full breakfast with them, that I need lunch no more! Its amazing. The spanish whose name is roser (pronounced as hosea) brought spanish pork. And they bought this norwegian meat. Which actually says "sheep/cow/goat heart. 3- in - 1" Germans are funny people. They call it the "animal farm, except elephant, meat"
I took the chance to ask far about cable buying. She said "99 kr for 1 metres is way too expensive. I can show u much cheaper ones" Evening, we by pass Oslo City, and she brought me to that shop. She found a lan cable 79 kr for 3 metres. Not bad. But I went to the telephone section, found a 5 metres cable for 39 kr!, but wasnt sure if it works. It looks exactly the same to me really. The way the wires are connected. So I asked this german fren for his opinion. He said "I'll take a look" confidently. And mumbled lots of deep terms (wire is cross-linked, red, yellow and brown). Little did I realise later, that he was a PHD electrical engineer. And he said "im absolutey sure this 5 metres cable works for internet" I took a gamble, bought it and it works!! AMAZING.
However, sadly, I realised that I forgot to bring my passport photos (must have left it on my table in sg!) And had to take new ones there. It costs twice as much. 60 kr, ie 12 sing for 4 photos. Sigh. but I manage to make my student pass with the help of far.
